The 25 most powerful TV shows of the past 25 years – Yahoo! News.
I’m a baby boomer baby. I bet you’ve guessed that by now, since I’m writing a blog that discusses quality TV for baby boomers.
Have you noticed how many brain stimulation devices in the form of web sites, magazines, games, tests, etc. there are available? At least twice a month I’m getting something in the mail spouting how to train my brain. At least once a week I’m getting a form of spam offering a free brain exam just by signing in to this web site or that web site.
I do have a couple of computer games on my Mac at home: Book Worm and Zombies vs. Plants. I also have a hand held game device that I take along with me to the doctor’s office or other places where I’m expecting to wait for a while. It has a variety of games on it (some that might even be helping my brain become more efficient).
I also have a subscription to the magazine Mental Floss. It wasn’t at all what I expected and I was relieved. It’s far better!
Recently they ran an article about the 25 Most Powerful TV Shows of the Past 25 Years. The link above is the complete article via Yahoo! News. You might be shocked, but some of them make perfect sense.
According to Mental Floss: “They may not be the best shows — in fact, some are among the worst, says Mental Floss. But their impact reaches far beyond the living room TV doesn’t get much respect. It rots your brain and grows couch potatoes. But the so-called idiot box also swings elections, rewires brains, snares criminals, and even sways the Supreme Court.”
