I hope you enjoyed the 4+ minute Comic-Con trailer. I’m so anxious for Season 4 to start, I had my own Walking Dead marathon several weeks ago. I was up in Door County over the July 4th holiday when AMC held their Walking Dead marathon and didn’t realize that my DVR had recorded all the episodes.

I bought Season 1 and Season 2, so I wasn’t worried about it, but was overjoyed when I realized that my DVR had actually recorded all the episodes, including the black and white Season 1 episodes, which I found extremely hypnotic to watch.

So I watched the black and white episodes and deleted the rest of Season 1 and 2 and took my time and reviewed Season 3 at my leisure. I decided the episode where Merle is shot by the Governor and Daryl goes to find him and discovers he’s turned into a zombie is one of the most powerful of Season 3, only topped by little ass kicker’s emergency birth.

I recently received #113 of the Walking Dead comics, anxiously awaiting #115. I get both the comics and The Walking Dead monthly magazine from http://www.tfaw.com (Things from Another World). #115 will be available in 12 covers. The biggest storyline in Walking Dead history will be arriving just in time to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series (this is the comic book I’m talking about now). When #115 ships in October, it will increase comic book delivery to twice a month, instead of just one Walking Dead comic a month.

In the comic world, it’s all out war as the survivors from Alexandria, The Hilltop, The Saviors and The Kingdom duke it out. Covers B through K form an interconnecting image! And realize this Walking Dead fans, many of those who have perished in the television show are alive and well in the comic book world.

So if you want to keep your Walking Dead hunger fed, consider feeding it with comics and the monthly magazine (no pun intended).

Awards – The Walking Dead – Definitely Award Worthy

Awards – The Walking Dead – AMC.

Well, The Walking Dead Season 3 is over until October when Season 4 starts. I had to watch the final episode twice to get a good grasp of how everything wrapped up. I was glad that there wasn’t a big cliffhanger scenario.

If you watched The Talking Dead‘s season finale, Norman Reedus said he was glad that the writers didn’t leave this season with all these open ended situations like they did when Season 3 ended. What was really weird was when they decided to take a caller and he started to speak this corpse rising incantation (he was from Tennessee). They cut him off (or hung up on him) after a few seconds, but it certainly left the panel and the host a little freaked out.

Of course no one knows exactly where The Governor drove off to.

The link above takes you to a long list of awards The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead Webisodes have won this year. Enjoy.

Oh, before you click, did you see the winning video of the AMC The Walking Dead/Dr. Pepper contest? It was very clever.

10 Ways to Get Ready for The Walking Dead Season 3 Finale

Ten Ways to Get Ready for The Walking Dead Season 3 Finale This Sunday – The Walking Dead – AMC.

The Zombie Apocalypse Marathon has already started, Monday night at 8/7 CT with the very first episode of The Walking Dead, “Days Gone Bye.” Since I have a brand new DirecTV Genie, I recorded all the episodes from Season 1 on that, because there’s just a ton of space (and Season 1 is by far my favorite).

There are certain episodes in Season 2 that are my favorites, for instance when the barn is emptied and when Glenn and Maggie go to town and Maggie gets attacked by a walker and Glenn beats him to death with a shelf (he always finds unique weapons to use against walkers).

While you’re reading the link (Ten Ways to Get Ready …) click on the link on the right side of the page about Steven Yeun Chats with Jimmy Kimmel. Great stuff.

I’m so glad I’m getting The Walking Dead Magazine so I have some regular Walking Dead material to feed my jones once Season 3 is over. In the most recent issue, there’s an interview with each of the brothers Dixon (Daryl and Merle). Also, I’ll hang on to Season 1 on my Genie so if I really start to jones I can watch a few episodes here or there. I also bought a Kindle Fire HD and have some Walking Dead apps on there which will tide me over.

Have you taken the all-new The Walking Dead Which Character Are You? quiz yet? You can get to it on the list of 10 Ways to Get Ready for the Season 3 Finale.

So what are your waiting for? Click the link above and have fun.

#1 Previews Exclusive Edition

#1 Previews Exclusive Edition

I’m in Walking Dead heaven. No, I haven’t been consumed by one of them. I received two issues of The Walking Dead magazine from Titan Magazines, a division of Titan Publishing Group Limited.

Number 1 covered Nov/Dec 2012 and #2 Jan/Feb 2013. I’m also due to receive #3 along with my Walking Dead #108 comic. They are so totally awesome (OMG, I sound like I’m 17 and just out of high school. Excuse me a minute while I go somewhere and slap myself in the back of my head a few times).

I received my magazines from TFAW.com. There are actually two types: the Previews Exclusive Edition (which are the ones I’m receiving from TFAW.com) and the Newsstand Edition. I’m not sure at this moment how different they are. Earlier today I downloaded a free version of #3 (newsstand edition) to my Kindle Fire HD. Once I receive the Preview Exclusive Edition of #3 from TFAW.com I can compare the two to see the difference between the two.

The covers are definitely different. But that’s not the best part. Every page has something to do with The Walking Dead. I’m only halfway through #1 and I’ve already read a great article about Robert Kirkman and how he sees the story in the comics vs. the story we watch on Sunday nights.

#1 Newstand Edition

#1 Newstand Edition

Number 1 covers late last year (Nov/Dec 2012) so much of what’s in this issue is previewing what’s upcoming in Season 3 but there’s still so much about The Walking Dead – it’s like a massive clearing house of information.

For example … in the Head Shots section there’s a write-up about the San Diego Comic-Con from July 2012. Gentle Giant exhibited an exciting piece of new merchandise that’s due for release in early 2013. I checked their site and it’s not out yet, but I added my email to their customer list so when they release it for sale, I’ll be notified.

What is it you ask? Ever receive a bag of plastic army men when you were a youngster? I never did, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t buy a few bags of them for party gifts a time or two. Gentle Giant will be releasing something on that same order but not quite … yep, you guessed it … The Walker Horde. I can’t wait to get mine.

‘Walking Dead’ Helps Solidify AMC’s Ratings Success

‘Walking Dead’ Helps Solidify AMC’s Ratings Success – NYTimes.com.

How long have you been watching The Walking Dead? Just the third Season? All three Seasons?

Have  you noticed how “other” press coverage on The Walking Dead, the stars and other aspects of the series has picked up 10-fold?

I just saw Laurie Holden on Ellen early last week. In mid-February, I attended a live show with 3 cast members and Greg Nicotero. USA Today recently had a half page article about The Walking Dead women being stronger than the men.

If you hit the link above, you’ll read an interview conducted by David Carr, who writes the Media Equation for Business Day Media & Advertising for The New York Times, of Josh Sapan the Chief of AMC Network. Mr. Sapan has been with AMC for 25 years, and shares why, after 3 seasons, the success of TWD has finally come to fruition.

Mr. Carr squeezes a ton of facts about The Walking Dead (TWD) in this article – all of them complimentary: TWD was the highest-rated show … during its run last fall; 3-weeks ago TWD owned Sunday night; The Talking Dead drew almost 2.8 million viewers … trumping NBC for all of February.

And NBC should be a little pissed about that because TWD was actually NBC’s for the asking in 2011, as reported in the NYTimes.com article (just hit the link above and read about for yourself).

Walking Dead Marathon Happening NOW!

twd-s3-key-art-398.1It began at 10/9am CT with the first episode of Season 2, remember where they are driving down the freeway and come to the congestion of cars that stops them in their tracks. Everyone gets out and starts scavenging through the cars to find what they can when suddenly, a herd of walkers comes along.

Andrea is in the RV and ends up ducking into the bathroom where she’s trapped by a snoopy walker when he hears the sound of the gun she’s trying to put back together. Dale tosses a screwdriver down to her and she ends up stabbing the walker in the eye a couple of times (yuck).

Rick and Sophia end up in the woods and Sophia is lost and the rest of them spend the next few episodes looking for her. Of course you know what happens next …

If not, you should be turning to AMC right now, setting your DVR and get ready to get caught up on Season 2 which runs until 11:30/10:30pm CT. At that time, Season 2 begins all over again.

Season 3 begins on Sunday with “The Seed” at 1/12pm with new episodes at 9/8pm CT.

Finally, new episodes of The Walking Dead. Three minute previews of episode 309 are sprinkled throughout the marathon.

The Talking Dead returns tomorrow night at 10/9 CT. You can submit questions for the show in numerous ways for host Chris Hardwick and guests Kevin Smith and Steven Yeun.

The Walking Dead Returns This Sunday. Are you ready?

The Walking Dead Returns This Sunday 9/8c.

There’s a Walking Dead marathon Saturday starting at 10/9am CT beginning with the Season 2 premiere “What Lies Ahead.” Perfect timing considering that new episodes start this Sunday, Feb. 10.

The link will get you ready with “Ten Ways to Get Ready for The Walking Dead‘s Return Sunday Night.” I just listed the #1 way above – watch the Marathon on Saturday. You could call your friends that have been meaning to watch and get them initiated and make a party of it.

Pull some recipes, go to the store and try some of those exotic dips you’ve been meaning to try. Now that the Super Bowl is over, what else is Sunday good for?

When you hit the link it goes to the web page and you can check out the Exclusive Features – this one in particular is fun – photos of the Memorable Zombies from the Walking Dead Season 3 … So Far. I’d have to go with Number 14.

Even More New Years Day TV Marathons (Updated)

Brandi from Storage Wars

Brandi from Storage Wars

It doesn’t matter what you’re doing or what  you have planned for New Years Eve or New Years Day, sooner or later, you’ll turn on the television. (Times are given in Central Time.)

I’ve been compiling some lists from some of my favorite channels to see who’s playing what all day December 31st and January 1st (2013). To start, AMC announced they were playing all three seasons of The Walking Dead beginning December 31. Bob82 posted a comment that it looked like that was cancelled, and I checked this morning. Bob82 was right, only Season 3 is on the schedule beginning at 8pm on December 31.

So here’s what I’ve come up with so far and I’ll keep adding to it as I find more. Hope I’ve hit on some of your favorites.

Updated: I googled “TV Marathons New Years Eve/Day” and I can not believe how many reliable sources are coming back unreliable. Most, if not all still have AMC running The Walking Dead Marathon. The Walking Dead – New to Show and a Chip Dip Recipe!

The Walking Dead – New to Show – AMC.

It’s Friday, Dec. 21 and I have four days off in a row. Imagine, I don’t have to get up with the alarm clock for four days.

And then it’s back to work and then more days off! Plus I always take a vacation day after a Holiday which means I’ll be off on the 2nd of January which leads me to why I’m writing this post.

Starting on Dec. 31 and continuing through Jan. 1, AMC will be running all episodes of The Walking Dead. A perfect opportunity for you to get caught up with everything before new episodes return on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 9pm/8pm CT.

Lori Acken from our office interviewed Steven Yeun (who plays Glenn Rhee) this week and asked me for questions. I was honored.

One of the questions I gave her to ask him was if he had any recipes to recommend in case someone was planning a New Years Eve/Walking Dead Marathon party. I’m not sure if she asked him that, hence, not sure if he recommended any recipes, but I’ve got a helluva cream cheese and olive chip dip recipe that’s been in our family going on 50 years or more, if you want that.

The link I have for you is perfect if you’re New to the Show … because that’s exactly what the link is! Have fun … oh and if you want that chip dip recipe, leave me a comment with your email address and I’ll send it right along.

Q&A – Melissa McBride (Carol Peletier) – The Walking Dead – AMC.

So there is a “spoiler” in this Q&A. In the Q&A that appears right after where the video is positioned. So if you haven’t been watching The Walking Dead or if you’re just starting and haven’t seen Episode 4, Killer Within you may not want to look at this Q& A.

If you don’t care about this casual spoiler, that by all means, look at the Q&A and enjoy the video embedded within.
