10 Ways to Get Ready for The Walking Dead Season 3 Finale

Ten Ways to Get Ready for The Walking Dead Season 3 Finale This Sunday – The Walking Dead – AMC.

The Zombie Apocalypse Marathon has already started, Monday night at 8/7 CT with the very first episode of The Walking Dead, “Days Gone Bye.” Since I have a brand new DirecTV Genie, I recorded all the episodes from Season 1 on that, because there’s just a ton of space (and Season 1 is by far my favorite).

There are certain episodes in Season 2 that are my favorites, for instance when the barn is emptied and when Glenn and Maggie go to town and Maggie gets attacked by a walker and Glenn beats him to death with a shelf (he always finds unique weapons to use against walkers).

While you’re reading the link (Ten Ways to Get Ready …) click on the link on the right side of the page about Steven Yeun Chats with Jimmy Kimmel. Great stuff.

I’m so glad I’m getting The Walking Dead Magazine so I have some regular Walking Dead material to feed my jones once Season 3 is over. In the most recent issue, there’s an interview with each of the brothers Dixon (Daryl and Merle). Also, I’ll hang on to Season 1 on my Genie so if I really start to jones I can watch a few episodes here or there. I also bought a Kindle Fire HD and have some Walking Dead apps on there which will tide me over.

Have you taken the all-new The Walking Dead Which Character Are You? quiz yet? You can get to it on the list of 10 Ways to Get Ready for the Season 3 Finale.

So what are your waiting for? Click the link above and have fun.

On Saturday, Feb. 16, I spent an evening with Greg Nicotero, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohen and Steven Yeun. Milwaukee was on one of their city tours and they happened to be here for a two-show date.

I went to their early show and I was glad I did. Apparently it was more orderly than the 10pm show. It was, at times, extremely hard to understand what they were saying, but at least the 7pm audience knew how to behave.

Greg Nicotero is by far, one of the most interesting people I know. The guy who was playing “host” (I think he said he was from the Onion) was about about as interesting as a box of hair.

The first 60+ minutes was the box of hair talking in generalities and then the last 30 minutes he was asking the “panel” questions that had been submitted via Twitter. It seemed he was smart enough to at least pick a few questions that proved he had some brain matter.

Steven Yeun told a funny story about being at the airport and playing with his phone and a young brother and sister were talking to each other …”that’s him”… “are you sure?” … “yeah, I know that’s him” … like he wasn’t even there. Finally he just said to them “do you watch the show?” and freaked them out like they thought he couldn’t talk.

Norman Reedus shared with us some of the weird things people send him; one woman sent him her breast implant. When you click on the link and read the interview with Norman Reedus he talks about stuff he gets in the mail from people and that he gives a lot of that stuff to Chandler Riggs.

Greg Nicotero said he received a 3+ page letter from a fan that had an extensive, detailed description of her perfect walker, which he plans on using in the final episode. So you know what that means, right? Let’s all watch for it.

Walking Dead Marathon Happening NOW!

twd-s3-key-art-398.1It began at 10/9am CT with the first episode of Season 2, remember where they are driving down the freeway and come to the congestion of cars that stops them in their tracks. Everyone gets out and starts scavenging through the cars to find what they can when suddenly, a herd of walkers comes along.

Andrea is in the RV and ends up ducking into the bathroom where she’s trapped by a snoopy walker when he hears the sound of the gun she’s trying to put back together. Dale tosses a screwdriver down to her and she ends up stabbing the walker in the eye a couple of times (yuck).

Rick and Sophia end up in the woods and Sophia is lost and the rest of them spend the next few episodes looking for her. Of course you know what happens next …

If not, you should be turning to AMC right now, setting your DVR and get ready to get caught up on Season 2 which runs until 11:30/10:30pm CT. At that time, Season 2 begins all over again.

Season 3 begins on Sunday with “The Seed” at 1/12pm with new episodes at 9/8pm CT.

Finally, new episodes of The Walking Dead. Three minute previews of episode 309 are sprinkled throughout the marathon.

The Talking Dead returns tomorrow night at 10/9 CT. You can submit questions for the show in numerous ways for host Chris Hardwick and guests Kevin Smith and Steven Yeun.

Laurie Holden Talks About The Walking Dead + Norman Reedus as The Punisher

Laurie Holden Talks to TV Guide; Variety on The Walking Dead vs. Downton Abbey – The Walking Dead – AMC.

As I was watching the Walking Dead marathon yesterday during the Super Bowl, I realized just how far our band of survivors has come. It’s always good to be able to see the beginning and then reflect what shapes characters.

Take for instance Laurie Holden (Andrea) losing her sister (Amy) and then, when she wants to leave her misery and pain behind her, Dale won’t let her (in the last episode (TS-19) of Season 1).

The Walking Dead, Season One, episode "Vatos"

The Walking Dead, Season One, episode “Vatos”

I also realized that Glenn got kidnapped in the first season by the homies in the episode “Vatos,” which is actually one of my favorites. “Vatos” is the episode where Rick, T-Dog, Daryl and Glenn return to Atlanta to retrieve Merle and the bag of guns Rick dropped when he was taken down by the gang of walkers.

It turns out that for all the machismo they’re showing, the homies are just trying to keep a well hidden assisted living center running. Guillermo (Neil Brown, Jr.) was the custodian and is elevated to “leader.” He uses one street credit line in there that’s hysterical, claiming he’ll feed “Glenn to his dogs that he stole from Satan’s backyard.” The dogs turn out to be 3 toy chihuahuas.

This episode (Vatos) attained general acclaim from the TV critics because it successfully made the viewers experience the daily life of the show’s characters. Upon initial airing it attained 4.75 million viewers according to Nielsen. It became the highest-rated cable program of the day and the ninth most-watched cable program of the week.

The Walking Dead – New to Show and a Chip Dip Recipe!

The Walking Dead – New to Show – AMC.

It’s Friday, Dec. 21 and I have four days off in a row. Imagine, I don’t have to get up with the alarm clock for four days.

And then it’s back to work and then more days off! Plus I always take a vacation day after a Holiday which means I’ll be off on the 2nd of January which leads me to why I’m writing this post.

Starting on Dec. 31 and continuing through Jan. 1, AMC will be running all episodes of The Walking Dead. A perfect opportunity for you to get caught up with everything before new episodes return on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 9pm/8pm CT.

Lori Acken from our office interviewed Steven Yeun (who plays Glenn Rhee) this week and asked me for questions. I was honored.

One of the questions I gave her to ask him was if he had any recipes to recommend in case someone was planning a New Years Eve/Walking Dead Marathon party. I’m not sure if she asked him that, hence, not sure if he recommended any recipes, but I’ve got a helluva cream cheese and olive chip dip recipe that’s been in our family going on 50 years or more, if you want that.

The link I have for you is perfect if you’re New to the Show … because that’s exactly what the link is! Have fun … oh and if you want that chip dip recipe, leave me a comment with your email address and I’ll send it right along.

USA Today Dubs TWD Essential Viewing; Andrew Lincoln Is TVLine Performer of the Week – The Walking Dead – AMC.

Wow! is about all I could say once I read this article.

If you’re not watching The Walking Dead yet, why not? Just take a look at the list of “Tags” I put in for this post and that should give you an idea of how many media outlets have been commenting POSITIVELY on The Walking Dead. Just one of their episodes turns in millions of viewers, the kind of numbers some series would be happy to have for an entire season.

Here are two teasers from the article above:
Adweek‘s short list of the hottest media properties includes The Walking Dead in the “Best reason to watch TV now,” “Biggest social butterfly” and “Show that keeps you on the edge of your seat” categories.

TV by the Numbers reports that last week’s episode was the highest-rated cable show on Sunday, recording a rating of 5.6 in the 18-49 demographic, up from from 4.9 last week.
