AMC Celebrates Return of The Walking Dead with Zombie Finger Giveaway

AMC Celebrates Return of The Walking Dead with Zombie Finger Giveaway.

This image and story hit the airways today with a bang! I first saw it on Creativity Online, an online newsletter of digital AdAge. When I Googled it to try and find a better picture, hundreds of hits came up. Everyone was talking about it. Randy Matheson was one of the few who mentioned the contest (it almost makes me wish I could grab a train to Toronto just to take a picture with it).

This is a prime example of just how cheeky things are getting with the upcoming premiere of The Walking Dead on Sunday.

The Walking Dead Returns This Sunday. Are you ready?

The Walking Dead Returns This Sunday 9/8c.

There’s a Walking Dead marathon Saturday starting at 10/9am CT beginning with the Season 2 premiere “What Lies Ahead.” Perfect timing considering that new episodes start this Sunday, Feb. 10.

The link will get you ready with “Ten Ways to Get Ready for The Walking Dead‘s Return Sunday Night.” I just listed the #1 way above – watch the Marathon on Saturday. You could call your friends that have been meaning to watch and get them initiated and make a party of it.

Pull some recipes, go to the store and try some of those exotic dips you’ve been meaning to try. Now that the Super Bowl is over, what else is Sunday good for?

When you hit the link it goes to the web page and you can check out the Exclusive Features – this one in particular is fun – photos of the Memorable Zombies from the Walking Dead Season 3 … So Far. I’d have to go with Number 14.

The Walking Dead Midseason Premiere Poster Revealed & Get Dead Yourself (for fun)

It’s getting closer … February 10 … the day the Walking Dead returns to AMC. Click on the link and you’ll see the Walking Dead midseason premiere poster with the tagline “An Eye for an Eye.”

Also on that page there are some links to the Top TV Moments, including Lori & Shane’s deaths and E! Names Danai Gurira Breakout Star. (I would too just to keep from getting chopped up into little pieces.)

They also have this new Dead Yourself App for iPhone and Facebook, but when I tried to put the link into the blog, it kept putting my Facebook credentials in and I wasn’t too happy about that. So if you want to make yourself into a zombie (for fun) of course, you’ll have to check it out for yourself at DeadYourself.com.

But brace yourself and don’t have an accident when you go to that website (DeadYourself.com) because it’s actually quite scary.

The Walking Dead Interview with “Oscar”

The Walking Dead | Interview with Vincent M. Ward Oscar.

In this interview, Mr. Ward talks about how “enthused everyone is about the comic books” and how he thinks he “might start reading some!” I know EXACTLY how he feels. Since become a Walking Dead fan myself, I’ve been known to purchase and read the Comic Books myself.

I get all my comic books from a great place in the pacific northwest that has fantastic customer service and great prices. I found them while searching for a good price on a 2013 Walking Dead calendar. Known as Things From Another World (TFAW.com) they have a huge selection of all kinds of comic books, graphic novels, manga and pop-culture collectibles. Bagging and boarding is only a quarter.

They have stores in Milwaukie, Oregon (their World Headquarters is located there), Portland, OR, Beaverton, OR and University City, CA. I’m actually thinking about going on vacation to Portland just to visit their store.

Even More New Years Day TV Marathons (Updated)

Brandi from Storage Wars

Brandi from Storage Wars

It doesn’t matter what you’re doing or what  you have planned for New Years Eve or New Years Day, sooner or later, you’ll turn on the television. (Times are given in Central Time.)

I’ve been compiling some lists from some of my favorite channels to see who’s playing what all day December 31st and January 1st (2013). To start, AMC announced they were playing all three seasons of The Walking Dead beginning December 31. Bob82 posted a comment that it looked like that was cancelled, and I checked this morning. Bob82 was right, only Season 3 is on the schedule beginning at 8pm on December 31.

So here’s what I’ve come up with so far and I’ll keep adding to it as I find more. Hope I’ve hit on some of your favorites.

Updated: I googled “TV Marathons New Years Eve/Day” and I can not believe how many reliable sources are coming back unreliable. Most, if not all still have AMC running The Walking Dead Marathon. I’ve added a couple of other marathons that I checked out with DirecTV programming so I’m 90%+ they’re correct.

The Walking Dead – New to Show and a Chip Dip Recipe!

The Walking Dead – New to Show – AMC.

It’s Friday, Dec. 21 and I have four days off in a row. Imagine, I don’t have to get up with the alarm clock for four days.

And then it’s back to work and then more days off! Plus I always take a vacation day after a Holiday which means I’ll be off on the 2nd of January which leads me to why I’m writing this post.

Starting on Dec. 31 and continuing through Jan. 1, AMC will be running all episodes of The Walking Dead. A perfect opportunity for you to get caught up with everything before new episodes return on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 9pm/8pm CT.

Lori Acken from our office interviewed Steven Yeun (who plays Glenn Rhee) this week and asked me for questions. I was honored.

One of the questions I gave her to ask him was if he had any recipes to recommend in case someone was planning a New Years Eve/Walking Dead Marathon party. I’m not sure if she asked him that, hence, not sure if he recommended any recipes, but I’ve got a helluva cream cheese and olive chip dip recipe that’s been in our family going on 50 years or more, if you want that.

The link I have for you is perfect if you’re New to the Show … because that’s exactly what the link is! Have fun … oh and if you want that chip dip recipe, leave me a comment with your email address and I’ll send it right along.

Three Videos Sneak The Walking Dead’s Return in 2013

AMC

Three Videos Sneak The Walking Dead’s Return in 2013.

Here’s some Walking Dead video fun in case your craving is getting the best of you. I know I had a hard time on Sunday realizing there wasn’t anything worth watching at 8pm except reruns. Thank heaven for my DVR (how many times have you heard me say that?).

There are several videos here, some as long as six minutes, with behind the scenes action. Watching most of them at least whet my appetite some.

Remember, AMC will be showing all three seasons of The Walking Dead starting New Years Eve Day through New Years Day. Just think what a great party theme that would make. If I were you, I’d start googling for recipes right now.

The Walking Dead‘s new episodes return Sunday, February 10 at 9/8c.
